Improv Everywhere just released their latest mission, High Five Escalator on their website today. Agent Lathan gave out 2,000 high fives by standing next to a subway escalator during the morning rush (umm ouch). Five additional agents were spread out along the adjacent stairs holding signs that prepared commuters for the slap happy fun. This event was not as magical as Frozen Grand Central or as eye popping as No Pants! Subway Rides but it still managed to earn smiles from thousands of cranky subway riders.
Here is a confession, we know very little about this movie and never heard of the book. BUT we are still dying to see it. Does not make much sense. Neither does our pictures selection for this post. We randomly downloaded pictures that struck our fancy from the movie's NYC premiere last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre . Claire Danes, shown above, is not even in the flick- oops.
And well, we just thought the picture of Miss American was amusing. We give her credit for being smart enough for being slightly "more dressed" on the red carpet. The rest of the celebrities were strutting around sans parkas in the 20 degree weather.
Finally we get it right, model/actress/Gilmore girl, Krysten Ritter is in the movie (which stars, Isla Fisher). Movie opens nationally February 13th.
Could 2009 be a fantastic and sober year for Amy Winehouse? She recently packed her bags and left the dreary winter weather in London for the Caribbean island of St Lucia where reportedly she managed to overcome her spiraling drug problem. Looking a little plumper, and sporting natural curls she actually, dare I say, looks healthy. It has been reported that Winehouse is considering launching her first fashion line and yes a record label where she plans to record her 13-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield’s first release. And wait there is more - this morning we spotted a recent post on her Myspace page claiming she will be performing at this year's Coachella festival in April. Can a new look be far behind?
Lately retail stores are shutting down left and right so it's refreshing to report an opening. Vince, a contemporary fashion brand best known for its luxe staples that reflect a modern, sophisticated lifestyle, just opened their new retail outpost at 833 Washington Street in NYC’s Meat Packing District. We are loving the demin jumpsuit shown above. Retail price: $325.00
Even if you never read the book, the phrase, "He's Just Not That Into You", can curdle the strongest of stomachs. But it is hard to believe that anyone could not be into Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, or Jennifer Connelly after seeing them work the red carpet at the movie premiere Monday night at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Hollywood Boulevard was literally shut down as massive crowds pushed against barricades to get a closer look at some of Tinseltown's top starlets.
Drew Barrymore, who produced and stars in the film, swept up her hair and shimmied into a Lanvin cocktail dress. Scarlett Johansson with auburn locks rocked the red carpet in a strapless, flowered Oscar de la Renta number. But Jennifer Connelly's glam shoes stole the show. Ladies, we are totally into you.
