The countdown is on. We're exactly two weeks away from one of the most delicious days of the year: Thanksgiving. This year, leave your guests talking about more than that perfectly-cooked turkey with these four easy tips for your best tablescape yet:
1. Choose A Color Scheme
Whether you opt for bronzey brown and orange or all white with touches of gold and cream. This time of year, it's all about the warm, spicy colors and shimmery metallics paired with cream or white. But don’t be afraid to play with bold hues. Rich jewel tones (like a deep plum or saphire blue) offer that pop-of-color that will really set your tablescape apart from the rest.
2. Perfect Your Table Setting Skills
Remember what your mother told you: Forks go on the left, spoons and knives on the right—and go from there. Need a refresher for all things beyond the utensils? Click, here.
3. Layer Up!
The more, the merrier—that's our motto for just about anything... even when it comes to designing our tablescape! Try a neutral tablecloth underneath a contrasting brocade runner. And why stop there when you can layer up the plates as well. Start with a charger, add a dinner plate, then finish the look with a salad plate. (Hint: You'll make more of statement mixing and matching plates with different colors and patterns. Just make sure to stay within your color scheme.)
4. Accents. Accents. Accents.
Think place-card holders, candles and even fake leaves sprinkled from end to end. Come back here tomorrow to see some easy (yet equally adorable) DIY tabletop accents that everyone will love!
