But whether you're a seasoned stiletto-sporter or someone who only likes to wear them on special occasions, we want to make sure you look like a pro while strutting your stuff no matter what. Read on for a few tips on how to do just that:
1. Posture Is Key
Having a strong, solid posture goes a long way. First, make sure your arms are at your sides—since they will help you balance as you walk. Then, keep your head high and shoulders back with each step that you take. All of this together will give you total control of your body.
2. Have All The Fixings
Your shoes a bit loose? Purchase padding for the inside heel to help them fit better—and feel more comfortable, too. Soles a bit slippery? Purchase sole grippers, or take your shoes outside and scuff the soles on the sidewalk. Either of these techniques will add the perfect amount of traction right where you need it, and in seconds.
3. Choose Wisely
When picking out that perfect pair of stilettos, comfort is something you should always have in mind. Look for elements like a wider toe box, or a hidden platform (which will make wearing those sky-high heels a lot more manageable).
4. Keep An Eye Out For What's Ahead
Because it's always a guarantee the ground won't be one-hundred percent consistent from point A to point B, always be aware of what's ahead of you at least 1/3 of the way down the block. That way, you're prepared for grates, cobblestones, sidewalk cracks, or anything else that could throw you off your feet.
